Willie Haughey

William Haughey OBE (born 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland] is a Scottish businessman and chairman of City Refrigeration Holdings.

Willie’s vision as Patron of the Jimmy Johnstone Academy is to ensure that the Academy is a winner in bringing through young footballers and passing them on to the next level, that of professional football. This is only done though when the time is right for the young player to develop and hone their skills within a professional club set up

Willie also feels that football education is most important to the young players 14 years and above and would like to see them being involved in coach education. This ensures that by the time they are 16 years of age they should be educated up to SFA standard Levels 1-2-3 in both children and youth levels. This gives them a platform to develop their own knowledge and education, allowing them to stay within the game and not leave football as many young people do at the ages of 16 and above.
